Sincona Auction 84-78: Review of the October Auctions of SINCONA AG in Zurich from 24 to 26 October 2023

Once again, the SINCONA auction house in Zurich prepared four outstanding auction catalogues for this autumn, covering the world numismatics from the Celtic period to this day. New Issue CIT: Mt. Everest – First Ascent

On 29 May 1953, New Zealand-born Edmund Hillary and the Nepalese-Indian Sherpa Tenzing Norgay reached the summit of Mount Everest at 11:30 a.m. The first ascent of the world’s highest mountain was celebrated by the international media as the conquest of the third pole – after the North and South Poles. CIT commemorates this iconic moment in mountaineering with a commemorative coin that shows Mount Everest in three-dimensional relief.
